Dynamic Meditation – Train the mind - Improve the body

For those of you who are following the KFM Urban-X program, you have noticed that at the end of each segment, KFM spends time to stress the importance of adding Dynamic Meditation to your training. We need to understand that the mind is a very powerful thing and by working both Mind and Body we will maximize our results.  Professional athletes have been using these ideas for years and there are many published medical experiments which concur as to the validity of meditation for the health and performance gains that can result from this practice.

For example its normal for a Boxer or Cage Fighter to sit before the match and run through things in their heads. Seeing the perfect shot placement and their domination of the opponent. Many sports teams have the “PEP” talk before heading out on the field, placing positive images and ideas of success in the forefront of everyone’s minds.

Sadly, many people NEGLECT this type of training though, dismissing it as esoteric, which is definitely not the case. To understand the influence the brain can have on us we need look no farther than the TV. Say we are watching a scary movie and at the conclusion of the film, we are not so sure we want to be alone in a dark room, our heart rate has increased and we are a bit scared. But that’s maybe why we like that movie, it scares us a little. But when we look at it, what are we scared of? Essentially it is just light coming out of a box in the corner of the room. It’s only the brain that takes this light and processes it into a form we can understand. In this case, its processed into a context that might scare us. We then tend to elicit the same response as the movie characters, fear. Now is this real, NO, we know that logically, but our heart races anyway! So in this case we physically manifest responses due to the brains perception of a situation, perception is reality despite logic.

If the brain can do this TO us, what can it do FOR us?

There is little difference between vividly imagined reality and reality itself as far as the brain is concerned. This is why dreams can seem real at times and why meditation works. If we can see things in our mind, if we can see ourselves moving the correct ways, if we can see ourselves responding perfectly then we are more likely to physically manifest these same correct responses when they happen for real. By running through these things in our minds we can program ourselves for sucess!

Think about it….
